€16 general admission, €12 for Thursday evening entry (after 6 PM). Free under 18, and free under 26 for EU/EEA residents. Timed-entry booking is now mandatory, walk-up entry is no longer available. Book online at musee-orsay.fr before you go. Verify prices before visiting.
Thursday evenings after 6 PM are the quietest time to visit, and you pay €12 instead of €16. Weekday mornings are calmer than weekends, but the Impressionist floors are always busy.
A highlights visit takes around 2 hours. To see the full collection (Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, sculpture, and decorative arts) plan for 3 to 4 hours.
The Impressionist masterpieces (Monet, Renoir, Degas) are on the top floor. Van Gogh's works are there too. Manet's Olympia and Dejeuner sur l'herbe are on the ground floor.
Bring headphones. Photography without flash is allowed throughout the permanent collection. The museum café on the middle level has a view through the original station clock. Free wifi is available throughout the building.
